Switching from Suno to Udio.
Udio deserves a trial when editing, stems, and controlled iteration matter more than Suno's rapid song-generation flow. Rights, attribution, and platform terms matter as much as sound quality for anything commercial.
✗ What doesn't transfer
- Songs, generation history, custom personas, and credits do not transfer
- Model-specific prompt behavior must be relearned
- Commercial-use rights do not become broader merely because a file is uploaded elsewhere
Do the math before cancelling anything
Udio listed Standard at $10/month with 1,200 monthly credits and Pro at $30/month with 4,800 when checked 2026-08-28. Compare that with the live Suno checkout and the number of usable tracks—not raw generations—you produce each month.
Migrate one task, not your whole workflow
- Generate the same five briefs in both tools without reusing copyrighted lyrics or artist impersonations.
- Score arrangement control, vocals, editability, and usable-output rate.
- Download permitted masters and document the applicable terms before cancelling either subscription.
